Abstract: Sex education should currently be included as a compulsory subject in schools. A prospective, descriptive study was initiated and aimed to assess the level of knowledge of 100 students in the seventh and eighth grades in rural and urban environments, concerning sexual education issues. The answer analysis revealed an increased knowledge level and frequency of dialogues on these subjects in pupils in urban areas compared to rural ones. Contraceptive methods commonly mentioned are condoms (girls and boys in urban) followed by pills; in rural areas, girls and boys know better the pill and then condoms (girls) and both equally (boys) .The presence of sexual transmitted disease (STD) is known, girls in urban and boys in both urban and rural areas knowing that contraception can be used both for avoiding pregnancy and preventing the occurrence of a sexual transmitted disease, a little known aspect to girls in rural areas
