Abstract: | The twin screw compressor is a positive
displacement machine. Its performance strongly depends
on the geometry of its rotors. Existing methods for rotor
profile generation are based on the envelope condition
from theory of gears: one curve on one rotor will generate
the conjugate curve on the other rotor. Alternative
approach is to generate the rotor profile on a rack, equally
applicable to both rotors: main and gate. We can apply
this method for optimize the contact line length. |
