Abstract: An old exploitation domain of wood is the musical instruments manufacturing. In this context, the high quality of used wood must joint with the acoustic quality of wood and the musical quality of instruments. The paper deals with the mathematical modelling of the classical guitar as a static structure. In the first part of the paper are presented the physical, mechanical and acoustical characteristics of the wood species used in the guitar construction. The second part is focused on the establishment of the design assumptions, the analytical model and the analytical resolution of the statically indeterminate system. Finally the results and conclusions are graphically presented relieving the connections between different parameters: the stiffness, the stiffness modulus, the Young’s modulus, a. o.
