Abstract: A chromium nitride coatings have been deposited on stainless steel substrates by magnetron sputtering at constant temperature and four bias voltages between 0 and -200 V. The phase composition and lattice parameter of the coatings are determined by XRD analysis. Their hardness and Young's modulus also are measured. The internal stresses of the coatings at each bias voltages of substrate are calculated. The influence of bias voltage on phase composition and internal stresses of the coatings are discussed.
