Abstract: The paper deals with the numerical investigation of the flows in radial-flow one-stage blower-aggregate. The main aim of this numerical study is to predict the relevant operating behaviour of the blower and to determine detailed information about the flow characteristics inside that. The calculated distributions of flow characteristics in the blower determined by ANSYS-FLUENT are available to decide whether the main functional parts of the blower are working properly, or not. The CFD model developed in this case for carrying out the numerical simulation is taken account of the heating effect of the electro-motor by applying specific heat sources inside the calculation domain. The calculated average values of flow characteristics are usable to determine the characteristics of the calculated operating points of the blower. The discrete points of the predicted performance curves can be compared with measured data obtained by experimental tests of the blower-aggregate for their validation.
