DETERMINING THE LEVEL OF NOISE POLLUTION PRODUCED BY THE RAILWAY MODERNIZATION ACTIVITY IN PETROȘANI MUNICIPALITY

Abstract

Construction site noise is a source of major noise pollution in the big cities in Romania, and from year to year it becomes an increasingly bigger problem, with consequences for the health of the population. Occupational health and safety legislation sets out the minimum requirements for the protection of workers against their health and safety caused or likely to be caused by exposure to noise. In this work, we set out to determine the level of noise pollution produced by the railway modernization works in the municipality of Petrosani. Determining the level of noise pollution is necessary in order to establish solutions to reduce the level of noise pollution for the residents of the areas adjacent to the construction sites and for the protection of the employees on the construction site.
