Abstract: The present paper investigates the issue of what effect the axial load (compressive or tensile) has on the eigenfrequencies of heterogeneous fixedpinned beams with an intermediate roller support (the beams are called FrsP beams). These problems are three point boundary value problems (eigenvalue problems) associated with homogeneous boundary conditions. If the Green functions of the three point boundary value problems (BVP) are known the eigenvalue problems that provide the eigenfrequencies of the axially loaded beams can be transformed into eigenvalue problems governed by a homogeneous Fredholm integral equations. The later eigen value problems can be solved numerically by using an effective solution algorithm based on the boundary element method.
