The Digital Collections of the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu into the Europeana: Case study of the LBUS Library

Abstract

Being the result of collaboration of professional organizations, universities and research libraries from several countries, the Digital Library “Europeana” aims to make available online the cultural heritage, anywhere, anytime, in the virtual environment of the Internet. The Library of the “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu has participated in recent years to the most important digital projects regarding Europeana. Working together with the most important university researching libraries, the library team accumulated valuable experience and has established processes for developing digital content ranged from multiple sources, of different data standards. It was also our mission and honour to promote and disseminate through this projects, the Romanian local cultural heritage.
