Abstract: The paper presents the resistance structure of a retractable garage starting from certain requirements; the material used should be solid wood or glued wood, the specific overall dimensions to the useful dimensions of a family vehicle, and the accessories, in accordance with the current level of development (automated, with low energy consumption and even the use of the garage to capture solar energy). Being a wooden construction, the strength calculation of the structure required by different types of actions was performed. In the first stage of design and calculation, the results highlighted the need to increase the size of the structural elements or to introduce stiffening elements of the structure so that it resists over time for permanent, long-term and short-term stresses, according to calculation assumptions.
