| Abstract: | Radiodermitis is inflammatory or dystrophic skin processes produced by the direct action of ionizing radiation. We report the clinical case of a male patient aged 60 years with a verrucous type of squamous cell carcinoma appeared on a very old chronic radiodermitis area. 40 years ago the patient underwent local radiotherapy for a deep mycosis on the left temporal area. At dermatologic examination we observed a round-oval, white-pink coloured, atrofo-cicatricial scar with telangiectasias on surface with 4 cm in diameter. On the surface of the placard we observed a painless, with warty surface verrucous tumour with diameter of 1 cm. The histopathology revealed a squamous cell carcinoma. The presented case confirms the presence of a squamous cell carcinoma appeared on chronic radiodermitis after a long period of latency. |
