Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to present the importance of resistance to soil penetration over the mechanical processing process. Penetration resistance is important to characterize the changes caused by mechanical soil processing and agricultural machinery displacements. This is an important indicator of the physical quality of the soil, being widely used both for conventional and non-conventional systems. Determination of penetration resistance is an easy and rapid method of assessing soil resistance and depends on the sheer force of the soil, on the degree of compaction, including the friction between soil and metal.
