Studiu retrospectiv privind incidența și tratamentul fibromului uterin

Abstract

Introduction: Uterine fibroids are the most common benign uterine tumors, with an estimated incidence of 20%–40% in women during their reproductive period, being a major cause of morbidity in women. Objective of the study: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the prevalence of the uterine fibroids and the treatment performed in the Clinical Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Dr. I. A. Sbarcea Brasov. Material and method: The retrospective study was conducted on 536 patients, during a period of 2 years. Results: The prevalence of the pathology was increased at patients between 40-49 years old (54.85%), the main symptom being metrorrhagia in 62.13%. Conservative interventions were performed in 55.22% of cases, while in 44.78% radical surgical interventions were preferred. Conclusions: Uterine fibroids are common at women in reproductive age; their incidence is increasing in the last decades. In women who present with acute uterine bleeding associated with uterine fibroids, conservative management intervention may be considered, but hysterectomy may become necessary.
