Abstract: The usual way to obtain a specimen for a plastic pipe is to make the cut on longitudinal direction. This kind of specimen will not reveal the material strength on circumferential direction. The proprieties that were obtained during the traction test of the samples that were collected on circumferential direction will be different of those that were taken on longitudinal direction, because the plastic tube is obtained by extrusion, thus the fibers being oriented on longitudinal direction. The samples that will be used for this study are made of polyethylene, have circular section and stress concentration points.
