Conjugate gradient algorithms for the finite element analysis of elastic structures

Abstract

This paper describes two accelerated conjugate gradient algorithms for solving linear systems of equations and for determining sets of dominant eigenvalues and corresponding eigenvectors of symmetric positive definite matrices. They are applied to the static solution and the analysis of natural vibration of elastic structures.
