Abstract: During operation of a commercial or industrial structure several defects may occur: micro cracking and cracking of resistance elements due to fatigue, corrosion of columns and beams and others; earthquakes may contribute to degradation of electrical installations and embedded piping. This paper presents a method of non-contact examination by infrared thermography for the determination of such defects in beams, fittings and embedded pipes.
