| Abstract: | This paper considers the efficiency of the ballasting operation in
order to achieve the navigational safety parameters. With this problem in
mind, is carried an analysis of the optimum timing of the ballasting
operation, concerning both functional reasons and the amount of water used
in order to acquire the desired trim and convenient cruise speed. |
