Abstract: Based on our studies we have established a new possibility of modelling the behaviour of intumescent fire protective coatings based on the method of finite elements. In this modelling we need some parameters, as the thermal conductivity of the coating. This conductivity depends on the temperature and estate of the coating and in our earlier works we have proposed some simple methods do estimate it. This paper deals with some enhancements of the proposed methods and with some comparative experiments.
