Abstract: In the cold-pressing working domain, the caused plastic deformation depends both the initial material characteristic (and those alteration during the working process) and the active elements behavior(the punch of the die and the cutting plate) at the real intensity of forces, stresses. In the cutting process at the dies, the revision calculus both at the compression it makes, at the crushing stress and at the buckling phenomenon () the loss of the elastic stability caused by the active force in service. For the slender punches with the step variation of the cross section, the stability equation is stated and then it is graphically solved. The performed computations shows the significance of the constructive (α, β)) parameters on the usability domain of the Euler's formula.
